Zero Arcade 900 1-Year Review: Can a Budget Earbud Survive 12 Months of Daily Use?

UPDATED MAY 16, 2026 | BY SHAHZAMAN BIN AZIZ

Let’s be honest, trying out budget tech can sometimes feel like a hit or miss. You never really know what you’re going to get until you try it. That’s exactly why I decided to spend my own money 6,000 PKR to be exact—on the Zero Arcade 900 last April. I wanted to see if they could actually survive my real, day-to-day life. Fast forward a full year, and I’ve put them through everything from back-to-back office meetings to long gaming marathons and plenty of sweaty gym sessions.

I’m writing this because I want to give you guys a completely honest, unsponsored look at how these hold up before you spend your hard-earned money.

The Unboxing & That First Charge

When my pair arrived, I actually recorded the unboxing. The packaging is surprisingly solid for the price—it comes in a nice, covered box with a separate charging cable and adapter. But the coolest part happens right when you plug them in. The moment the charging cable hits the case, the RGB lights instantly fire up to let you know it’s plugged in. It’s a small detail, but it feels premium.

I left them plugged in for just an hour, and it quickly juiced up to 60%. Getting them hooked up to my iPhone 11 Pro Max was just as fast. I turned on my Bluetooth, and they popped up in available devices within three seconds flat.

The PUBG Mobile Test (Does Gaming Mode Actually Work?)

Testing the triple-tap Auto Gaming Mode on PUBG Mobile.

After testing out some YouTube videos, I had to pull a legend move and put them through the ultimate stress test. I booted up PUBG Mobile, dropped into Erangel, and tapped the earbuds three times to trigger the Auto Gaming Mode.

I played for a solid 45 minutes straight just to hunt for any annoying sound latency or audio delay. Honestly? They sounded perfect. The hyper-low latency they advertise is completely legit, and they proved to me that this gaming mode wasn’t just a marketing gimmick.

Battery Life That Actually Surprised Me

If you’re a heavy user, this is where the Arcade 900 really shines. For hardcore gamers, a full charge on these will easily carry you through 36+ hours of non-stop action.

But if you’re like me and just need them for 3 to 4 hours a day to survive company meetings or listen to music while working, you won’t even need to look at a charger for 5+ days. I’ve tested a lot of earphones in the 6,000 PKR range, and to be completely honest, these are the first ones packing this level of battery endurance.

The Gym Reality Check

I have to keep it real with you guys: the gym is where these struggled for me. I took them with me for about two to three months, doing heavy bench presses and dumbbell routines. While they do have IPX5 water resistance (so sweat isn’t an issue at all), the grip in the ear is just very average.

They consistently dropped out of my ears mid-lift. Maybe my ears are just a bit too small, or maybe the stock foam tips just don’t have enough friction, but if you’re buying these purely for intense workouts, keep that in mind.

Late Night Performance vs. Apple AirPods Pro 2

Here is a funny little feature I ended up loving. Sometimes when I’m watching videos in bed under a blanket, an earbud falls out. With my Apple AirPods Pro 2, trying to find a blacked-out earbud in the dark is super annoying.

But the Arcade 900s have these RGB buds that blink every 3 seconds while they are connected. It basically acts as a beacon in the dark, making them insanely easy to find. For me, that’s a massive win.

The Quick Breakdown: Pros and Cons

I know a lot of you just want the quick facts, so here is exactly where they succeed and where they fail after a year of use.

What I Loved (Pros) What Annoyed Me (Cons)
Crazy Battery Life: Over 36 hours for gaming and 5+ days for casual use. Poor Workout Grip: They tend to slip out during heavy lifting or laying on a bench.
Zero Delay: The triple-tap Gaming Mode actually works for PUBG. Ear Tip Foams: The stock tips lack the friction needed to stay put.
Nighttime Visibility: The 3-second RGB blink makes them impossible to lose in the dark.
Lightning Fast Pairing: Hooked up to my iPhone in 3 seconds.
Incredible Value: Way better than generic locals in the 4k range.

Under the Hood (The Specs)

Just so you know exactly what hardware you are getting for your money, here is the spec sheet:

  • Latency: Hyper Low Latency with Auto Gaming Mode
  • Audio: ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) & Quad Mic setup for clear calls
  • Controls: Smart touch controls (play, pause, gaming mode)
  • Design: RGB Case & Buds
  • Extras: AI Voice Assistant support and IPX5 Water Resistance

Final Verdict

So, are they worth the 6,000 PKR? Absolutely. Right now, the local market is flooded with cheap knockoffs selling for 3,500 to 4,000 PKR that break in a month. For just 2,000 PKR more, you are getting unbeatable battery life, hyper-low latency for gaming, and a solid mic for meetings. Aside from the grip issues at the gym, this is a purchase I don’t regret at all.

Your Questions Answered (FAQ)

Is there any noticeable audio delay when playing PUBG?

Not at all. Once you tap the earbud three times to turn on Gaming Mode, the latency completely drops. I played Erangel for nearly an hour and the footstep audio was perfectly synced.

How is the battery for regular, everyday use?

If you aren’t gaming 24/7 and just use them for a few hours a day for music or work meetings, they will easily last you over 5 days without needing to plug the case back into the wall.

Will they survive my workouts?

Yes and no. The IPX5 water resistance means sweat won’t damage them, which is great. However, the in-ear grip isn’t the best. If you are doing heavy weightlifting or moving around a lot, expect them to slip out occasionally.

Do they take forever to charge?

Nope. The ultra-fast charging is legit. I plugged mine in for 60 minutes and it jumped straight to 60% battery life.

How do they hold up against something high-end like the AirPods Pro?

Look, you can’t compare the raw audio and noise cancellation of AirPods to a 6,000 PKR earbud. But for the price, the Arcade 900 punches way above its weight class. Plus, thanks to the RGB lights on the Arcade buds, they are actually way easier to find if you drop them in the dark than my AirPods Pro 2!

  1. I love that this review focuses on real-world usage instead of just specs. Hearing how the earbuds perform across office work, gaming, and gym sessions really gives a practical sense of what to expect day to day.

    • Thanks! I really wanted to see how they held up during a heavy gym workout versus a quiet office setting, since most of us use them for both. Glad the real-world testing helped you out!
