Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 Review: Lossless Audio & The Best ANC?
Who is writing this?
I’ve personally tested over 20+ premium earbuds, including the Sony WF-1000XM5, Apple AirPods Pro 2, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra. I don’t just look at spec sheets; I put these through real-world “torture tests” to see if they actually deliver on their premium promises.
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post or a paid promotion. I bought these Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds with my own salary to give you an honest, unbiased review based on my actual testing.
The Sennheiser Momentum series is legendary for premium audio, and the newly launched Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 aims to take that crown back. With a long name comes a long list of top-of-the-line features: lossless audio, dual-device connectivity, and the famous Sennheiser Signature Sound.
I’ve been putting these through their paces—including a real-world flight test—to see if they are worth your money. Here is my deep dive into the pros and cons.
How It Compares
Compared to Sony WF-1000XM5, the Momentum True Wireless 4 offers better instrument separation and clarity, though with less aggressive bass. Against AirPods Pro 2, it delivers superior audio quality but lacks deep ecosystem integration. Compared to Bose QuietComfort Ultra, it holds up closely in ANC performance while offering a more balanced sound signature.
Unboxing & First Impressions
The retail packaging lists the MRP at PKR 89,209 (though you can find them for much less). Inside the box, Sennheiser provides:
- The Momentum 4 earbuds
- A USB-C charging cable
- Silicon Wings (2 pairs): These are a lifesaver for getting a secure grip.
- Silicon Ear Tips (3 pairs): Different sizes to ensure a perfect seal.

Design & Build Quality
The charging case feels incredibly premium. It’s covered in a textured fabric material that is soft and unique in a world of plastic cases.
- Weight: 62g (case + buds).
- The “One-Hand” Test: The hinge is high-quality; you can flick the lid open with one hand easily.
- Earbud Aesthetics: I tested the Black Charcoal variant. It’s a sophisticated “bud” design with a silver top, black bottom, and the iconic logo.
Comfort: The “No-Fall” Test
Each earbud weighs about 6g. I wore these for long hours and can confirm they snug in nicely. By using the included wings, the fit is incredibly secure. I even tried a “head shake” test, and they didn’t budge.
The App Fit Test: I highly recommend running the “Fit Test” in the Sennheiser Smart Control app. It plays a snippet of music to analyze your seal and tells you if you need to swap ear tips.
Sound Quality: Audiophile Territory
The Momentum 4 offers four distinct audio resolution modes:
| Mode | Best Use Case |
|---|---|
| Standard | Everyday listening |
| Low Latency | Gaming or movies (no lip-sync lag) |
| High Resolution | Critical listening |
| Lossless | The gold standard for clarity |
My Take on the Sound: The audio is exceptionally well-balanced with crisp vocals. The bass is subtle and accurate. It’s not “hard-hitting” in a way that gives you a migraine, but if you want more thump, you can toggle Bass Boost in the app. The instrument separation in Lossless mode is truly a class apart.
Active Noise Cancellation (The Flight Test)
The Torture Test: I was lucky enough to test these on a flight, which is the ultimate benchmark for ANC performance.
- Engine Noise: When I switched on the Adaptive ANC, it cancelled out about 85–90% of the white noise.
- Comfort: Most importantly, I didn’t feel that “cabin pressure” sensation that usually causes headaches.
- Anti-Wind Mode: This is an underrated feature. If you’re working out outdoors on a breezy day, this kills the wind interference perfectly.

Calls & Connectivity
Microphones: There are 3 mics on each earbud. In my testing, the voice quality was clear for both indoor and outdoor calls.
Multipoint (Dual Pairing): You can connect to two devices (like a phone and a laptop) simultaneously. If you’re watching a movie on your laptop and a call comes in on your phone, it switches automatically and then resumes your movie once you hang up. It’s seamless.
Gestures: The touch surface is large, so I never “missed” a tap. You can even mute your mic with a single tap during a call—a very handy feature for meetings.
Battery Life & The Smart Control App
Sennheiser packed a 820 mAh battery into the case and 75 mAh into each bud.
- Single Charge: ~7 hours (with ANC ON).
- Total with Case: ~30 hours.
- Charging: It supports Wireless Charging, so no more fumbling with cables.
The Smart Control App is one of the best I’ve used. It features “Sound Zones” (which uses GPS to change your EQ automatically when you arrive at work or home), battery protection modes, and deep EQ customization.
The Verdict: Should You Buy Them?
✅ THE PROS
- Incredible Lossless audio support.
- Among the strongest ANC performances I’ve tested so far (flight-tested!).
- Premium fabric case with wireless charging.
- Stable Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
❌ THE CONS
- Case is not water-resistant.
- Battery drains faster in Lossless/High-Res modes.
Who Should Buy / Who Should Skip
- Buy if: You want balanced, high-resolution audio with strong ANC for travel and daily use.
- Skip if: You prefer heavy bass tuning, need a rugged waterproof case, or are on a tighter budget.
Current market pricing in Pakistan typically ranges between PKR 55,000–60,000 depending on the retailer and availability.
They are available in three colors: Black Copper, Metallic Silver, and Graphite. You can pick these up from major electronics outlets or official online stores.
